The Motorola Milestone was probably the best phone from Motorola in the past decade or so and it was also one of the first Android phones to be coming with a full QWERTY keyboard. However, the phone is clearly ageing and Motorola has decided to replace the phone. However, there is none bigger task in the world than replacing the very successful model. Motorola has decided to go with the replacement and it is launched the new Motorola Milestone 2 that has been announced as the replacement for the very successful Motorola Milestone. Motorola Milestone 2 offers are definitely something worth availing and are very reasonable in characteristic.The Motorola Milestone 2 will in many ways be similar to its predecessor and hence, there is a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. It does not have anything spectacularly overboard when it comes to features in this department and just like me, you will also be thinking the same. However, look closer and you will see an entirely different animal. It is a TFT touchscreen display and unlike many Android phones that have a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, the Motorola Milestone 2 has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. I know that doesn't sound a lot, but you have to use it in order to experience it and that little increase in resolution makes all the difference.
Like many new phones that have been launched recently, the Motorola Milestone 2 also features the gorilla glass display. It is an incredibly tough display that resists scratches on the screen surface. Hence, the screen is now much easier to maintain and it is kept as good as a new screen. The Motorola Milestone 2 is class leading in every feature apart from the camera since it uses only a five megapixel camera instead of the 8 or 12 megapixel cameras that are being used more and more nowadays. However, even then, the camera does not disappoint and I am sure that you will be having a great time shooting pictures with it. Shooting pictures is not the only thing that the camera can do brilliantly. It can also shoot HD videos as well. Shooting videos in mobile phone cameras is not a particularly good experience for many, but the use of latest technologies like image stabilisation and autofocus has meant that you really cannot be disappointed with the quality of the video recording.
The powerhouse of the phone is a 1 GHz unit and it runs on the Android 2.2 OS. Since it has a powerful processor, there are rumours that it could also be receiving the latest Android 2.3 OS as an upgrade. However, these remain as rumours only and there has not been confirmation from Motorola yet. Memory card support is provided and it comes with an 8 gigabyte card as standard in the box itself. Also, it supplements the 8 GB that is already present in the form of internal memory. So, the combined storage capacity at the time of your purchase will be 16 GB and you can expand it even further too. Moreover, you may also desire to explore Motorola Defy for other available deals.
