What is the reason behind the Flowerhorn Kamfa's popularity? And why do some fish enthusiasts want to add them to their collection. The reason is basically good luck. The protrusion found on the Flowerhorn Kamfa's head is seen as a good luck charm by collectors in Asia. This is the reason why fish collectors, businessmen and the generally superstitious have take it upon themselves to have one of these fishes as their pet.
The protrusion found on the head of the Flowerhorn Kamfa is called a nuchal hump. Also known as a kok, this protrusion is considered the source of good luck. But it's not the only reason. Aside from being a living good luck charm, they are also a breed of man-made fish.
Flowerhorn cichlids are the kinds of fish that were created by man, mainly for ornamental reasons. This is significant in terms of maintenance because as a man-made breed of fish, the Flowerhorn Kamfa can only exist in a very specific type of environment.
Despite the resilient nature of most breeds of Flowerhorn cichlid however, you should try to keep them comfortable. A water tank with a temperature of 80 to 85 F, and a pH of 7.4 to 8.0 should be ideal. You should also select a water tank with a considerable volume.
